Because it has two sets of screen changers, it can easily replace the filter screen automatically without stopping the machine. The operation is very simple and efficient. However, the hydraulic die head requires regular maintenance of the hydraulic system to ensure the normal operation of the system.
The electric die head is powered by an electric motor and it has the characteristics of being inexpensive. In foam granulation, the electric die head has become the mainstream in EPS granulation because it can replace the filter screen at a low cost. However, the electric die head is not as easy to operate compares with the hydraulic die head, and it requires technicians to have some experience to replace the filter screen without stopping the output of strands.
One thing to note is that the filtration quality of these two die heads is the same because the filter screens they use are the same. It’s just that the method of replacing the filter is different.
